Italian Guitar Camp 2025

by Tatyana Ryzhkova and Cultural Association Animula

in cooperation with D’Addario

We offer you two weeks of Italian Guitat Camp 2025 – you can choose the week you like or you are also very welcome to join us for both weeks:

The first week from May 19th to 23rd and the second week from May 26th to 30st, 2025

You can choose between two options – would you like one lesson with Tatyana or two lessons with an Italian guest teacher, who is highly valued by Tatyana.

The number of places is limited. If you are interested, please contact us for more information and registration at info@tatyana-guitar.com

Join us for an unforgettable Guitar Camp experience in Italy! You’ll have the chance to attend private guitar lessons, two guitar workshops with Tatyana Ryzhkova, a workshop on everything related to microphones, cameras, and recordings by Evgeni Jolondz, Tatyana’s video maker. As a special treat, you can participate in a shared concert, where Tatyana will also perform for you.

You have the chance to delve even deeper into Italian culture. If you choose the Option 2, you will have two private lessons with a highly qualified Italian guest teacher. During the first week, from May 19th to 23rd, the ensemble and lessons from Option 2 will be taught by Michele de Fazio. In the second week, from May 26th to 30th, Federica le Piane will be the instructor. I personally know and highly value both of these colleagues, and I am thrilled that they have joined our camp.

Having spent many years in this region, I greatly value the Italian school for its successful combination of musicality and technique, and our guest teachers will help you to develop both your musicality and technical skills. Choosing the second option, you will still spend most of your time with me and the other participants. As past years have shown, this shared time during meals, masterclasses, and excursions is the most valuable part of our camp experience. Of course, you are also very welcome to book the first option, which includes one private lesson with me.

All of this will take place in a wonderful atmosphere, hosted by a warm and welcoming family Nicotera in CASA GEMMA that makes this experience even more profound and unforgettable. You will become part of a real Italian family, and by the end of the week, you’ll feel like lifelong friends.

Beyond music, immerse yourself in Italian culture with our exciting program. You’ll join us on a sightseeing trip to explore the beautiful surroundings and taste one of the best ice creams in the world—Italy’s famous tartufo. Throughout the camp, we’ll spend plenty of time together, enjoying lunches, dinners, and good company.

We’re here to make your stay as smooth as possible. We’ll help you find affordable accommodation and provide a transfer to and from Lamezia Terme airport. If you’d prefer not to travel with your own guitar, we can help organize a student guitar in Lamezia. Just ask us!

The entire Italian Guitar Camp experience would not be possible without our local co-organizer Claudio Fittante from the Cultural Association Animula. Working together with local people enables me to provide you with an authentic experience of real Italian life and culture, which is something I especially value in this project.

Experience reports:

Roxy Kraber, Italian Guitar Camp 2023:

My experience at the guitar camp was amazing! Getting to spend quality time and learning from my favorite classical guitarist was an incredible opportunity that I would recommend to anyone remotely interested in classical guitar. I will never forget the week I spent in Lamezia with great food, new friends, and beautiful music.

Eugen Wiebe, Italian Guitar Camp 2024:

In the beginning of the week I greeted you with the words: “Dear friends, I speak English not very well and I can play the guitar even worse. The answer to the question: what am I doing here, I’m trying to find out these days.” And here is the answer: during these days I improved my spoken English, learned many words, for example “expectations” – I had none, but I got a lot. And I learned to feel some words: “stage fright”. It was a very valuable experience.  Of course, I also learned a lot musically. The second best thing this week was our group. You were simply great.  And the best of course was Tatyana and without Evgeni the whole thing would simply be unthinkable. I Thank you all, thank you Evgeni, thank you Tatyana! It was the best week in a long time. I’m on an emotional high.

Bart Versteeg, Italian Guitar Camp 2024:

I had a marvelous week. I didn’t think I could learn so much about guitar in one week, because I learned that Tatyana is not only an excellent performer, but she’s also a great teacher and a very nice person to deal with. In this week my biggest highlight was the lesson that I had with Tatyana. In one hour she taught me so much about music and how to make music and how to put emotion in music that I have enough to work on for the next month. The garden of Casa Gemma is the most beautiful practice spot I ever saw for a guitar player. The team that works here, the people that work here, the family that works here, they are so nice and they took so good care of us, and it is really just outstanding. What I will take with me is that I want to have more lessons from Tatyana. I want to return to the guitar camp next year. And I will certainly remember that you have to make music the way you feel it.

Jeff Mead, Italian Guitar Camp 2024:

I actually became teared times watching Tatyna help different people. She’s so good at coming up with an analogy or a concept that’s kind of away from guitar to help them with the guitar. And you can see the light in their eyes. I mean, you can see how it helped them to get through it. And she’s able to calm you down, when you have a stressful playing moment. There’s no pressure.  So, it was good to see how well she could work with everybody. I will also remember being able to meet with different people. I’ve traveled alone a lot, and it gets lonely. And I came here alone, but I feel like I’ve made like 10 friends, and I think some of those friendships should carry on. And I really enjoyed meeting other people and getting to know other people.
